COVID-19 Refund FAQ’s
We thank you for your continued patience and assure you that the entire Kennesaw State University staff is fully committed to handling your concerns as quickly and accurately as possible.

How will I receive my refund?
All refunds will be processed and appear on the student’s Owl Express account no later than March 27, 2020.
If the student has no balance due, a refund will be processed through BankMobile. Funds will be dispersed by the student’s preferred method of payment on file with Bank Mobile. To prevent any delays from receiving your refund, please ensure your BankMobile account is activated and refund preference selected. For information on how to activate your BankMobile account or select your refund preference, please visit the Bursar’s Office website.
If the student has a current balance due, a reduced balance due will show once the refund is applied.

Do I need to do anything to receive the refund?
No, the refund will be initiated automatically.

How do I know if I will be receiving a refund?
To confirm if you are receiving a refund, please follow these instructions:
- Log in to Owl Express
- Select Registration
- Select View Account or Pay Online
- Log in to E-Pay and select “My account” at the top of the page.
- Select View Activity
- Select View by term
- Select Spring Term
Your student account will show the fees you paid for spring term.

Will I receive a refund if I did not pay out of pocket?
If a scholarship was awarded and the sponsor allows refunds, you will be refunded.
Post 911 and VA payments will not be refunded to the student and will instead be returned to the sponsoring agency.

Will I receive a room & board refund?Students who were notified to vacate their on-campus housing because of coronavirus (COVID-19) will be receiving room and board refunds to their student account. Refunds will be processed 3-5 business days after the check-out process has been completed and confirmed by Housing.

Will I receive a refund on mandatory fees?
If you paid the mandatory fees listed below, you will receive a refund of $234.

Will I receive a refund on institutional and technology fees?Institutional and technology fees are not subject to a refund due to the classes being held online and no interruption of service.

Will I get a refund of my Dining Dollars?Yes, you will receive a refund for the unused portion.

Will I get a refund for my meal plan?All students who purchased a meal plan will receive a refund for the unused portion of the meal plan.

Will I be refunded for any online tuition?No, as these classes have not been changed or interrupted.

Where does the refund go for parking permit fees?For students who chose a parking option, a refund for the unused portion will be assessed to your student account once a roster of students has been finalized by Parking. Refund will be issued 3-5 business days after student roster is finalized.
